Arkansas now one win from CWS Finals

In a highly anticipated matchup of SEC foes, Arkansas and South Carolina did not disappoint the more than 23,000 fans in attendance Monday night, or baseball fans across the nation.

We all had a feeling coming into the game tonight that it would be a low scoring affair, raising the question of “how many runs is it going to take to win?”  Around 11 p.m. CST, Arkansas fans answered that question.  Arkansas’ pitching staff held off South Carolina’s terrific offense to win yet another one-run game, 2-1, putting the Razorbacks in the driver’s seat of bracket 2 with a 2-0 record.

Ryne Stanek was phenomenal for Arkansas, hurling six innings, giving up the lone Gamecock run, and scattering just three base hits.  South Carolina’s Colby Holmes was hit early by Arkansas, surrendering a single to Tim Carver to begin the ballgame and an RBI double by Dominic Ficociello in the…
