George Mason Patriots junior pitcher Brandon Kuter, at six-feet-seven-inches and 220 pounds, is characterized as what scouts consider to be a “good body.” Kuter joined teammate Chris O’Grady, who was selected by the Los Angeles Angels in the 10th round yesterday, as he went to the Texas Rangers in the 29th round with the 906th overall pick in the Major League Baseball Amateur Draft.

Kuter, a relief pitcher in his first two seasons with the Patriots, transitioned into a mid-week starter, making eight starts in 11 appearances. Kuter posted a 7.36 ERA and 29 strikeouts in 25-2/3 innings, while issuing 18 walks. Earlier in the year, Kuter racked up seven strikeouts in a game against the Richmond Spiders and his longest outing against the Coppin State Eagles, where he struck out four batters and allowed two runs in four innings.
